Moved to a place somewhere in Gujarat where there’s no Muslim restaurant within 10 kms. After a few rounds of veg/Jain food, you know that feeling when masjid isn’t nearby either and meat seems like its disappearing from life too 😭 — the imaan starts calling.
So I opened Zomato and started scanning for Muslim-sounding names. Found a small cake cloud kitchen. Called them up. A khatoon picked up, then midway through the conversation passed the phone to her husband — probably wondering who calls a cake kitchen asking about halal compliance 😄
Alhamdulillah, the brother understood and shared with me the names of restaurant where meat comes through Muslim suppliers and halal is properly maintained.
Digital tools really become supportive when you’re figuring out halal survival in a new place. Also made me realise <CUSTOM_BOLD>how important it is to stay informed about such things around your area as much as possible.</CUSTOM_BOLD>
