Someone once told me if a man is meant for you, he will not get cold on you. He will try his hardest to keep you and make a relationship work. However if he gets cold and doesn't communicate with you he is not your man. Life teaches us a lot and the knowledge we gain is the one we use. These days it is difficult to find a true man. All is left to keep trying and have faith in Allah.
