Do you believe financial status can outweigh the kind of love, loyalty, and peace that money can’t buy?

I understand that marriage requires financial responsibility, and nobody should be expected to ignore basic needs or future security. But there is a difference between wanting a responsible provider and making wealth the main measure of a man's worth. If someone is honest, caring, loyal and hardworking, should a modest income automatically make him less desirable than a wealthy man with poor habits? Why do we condemn material demands in one situation but sometimes justify them in another? What is your honest perspective?
