I have a question for Moroccan men: When you see foreigners insulting Moroccan women as a whole, labeling them all as bad or materialistic, don’t you feel ashamed for staying silent instead of standing up for the women who have nothing to do with those accusations?
Not all women are the same, just as not all men are the same. The same goes for women in every country. So why should an entire nation of women be judged by the actions of a few?
The difference is that, in other countries, men often stand up for their women and defend their dignity, even when they don't agree with their choices or actions. They understand that one person's behavior doesn't define an entire group.
Yet, Moroccan women seem to be easy targets for public humiliation over things that happen in every country, including those where people would rather keep certain matters private to protect their own image and reputation.
It's not about denying that some women make questionable choices. It's about fairness, respect, and double standards. If you can acknowledge that women everywhere are different, then why allow Moroccan women to be insulted as if they all share the same character?
Defending Moroccan women doesn't mean blindly defending every woman's actions. It means refusing to let an entire nation of women be disrespected because of the actions of a few. Respect should never depend on nationality, and dignity shouldn't be something we defend only when it suits us.
