I thought I could accept a man who is struggling and support him because I believe in a person's potential. But if he's constantly bringing family drama and anxiety into my life, I may not suffer financially, but I'll probably end up carrying his burdens too. I think I need to protect myself and choose a man whose life isn't filled with so much drama. I don't want it to affect my mental well being or my work.

Character is not revealed while someone is trying to win you; it is revealed once they believe you will stay.

Does anyone else feel like they absorb every single emotion they read here? 🥺🥹

To be honest, as someone who carries a lot of empathy, scrolling through these posts on Jamaa can take a real toll on my mental energy.

It hits differently when I read about situations where I was once in their shoes, it’s like my heart instantly relives those moments all over again.

There are posts that I will literally ponder on for days.

That’s the thing about having high empathy, right? We instinctively absorb the experiences and emotions of others.

It’s a beautiful blessing, but a heavy curse at the same time.

I’m sure others who feel deeply can relate to this, how do you guys manage your energy? 🌿🍃

Responsibility to yourself means refusing to let others do your thinking, talking, and naming for you; it means learning to respect and use your own brains and instincts; hence, grappling with hard work.

I've studied behavior for the last 14 years, one of the most powerful statments that I see many use:
"Out of my experience/As a doctor of 20 years" or any variation of it=> mostly he wants to make you look at him as an authority on the matter, regardless if he really has experience or not or is it even a good experience or not, also he may use it unintentionally or knowingly that he is "tricking you" or creating an authority identity for himself.
How to diffuse it?
Simply say "I totally appreciate your experience, but can we look at this and consider how it may be different?"
Note:Ive used the same exact methodology in the first of the post, I presented you with I am an expert on behavior authority identity 😉.
Note 2:this is used by almost all marketing agencies, including "content creators".

The greatest life skill is learning how to reset quickly.

Bad conversation? Move on.
Bad day? Rest and try again.
Bad decision? Learn from it and keep going.

Everyone falls. What matters is getting back up. Your life is bigger than one bad moment.
