Maybe it was anxiety.
Or maybe it was what happens when a person stays strong long after they were supposed to rest.

The world around me continued normally.
People talked, laughed, worked, moved on with their day.

And there I was, quietly falling apart in the middle of it all.

My chest hurt with emotions I could no longer organize into words.
My mind became unbearably loud, yet I stayed silent anyway.
Because somehow, even in pain, I still felt responsible for looking okay.

That is the loneliest part of survival mode —
you can be collapsing internally while nobody notices a thing.

So I kept going.
Kept pretending.
Kept carrying every exhausting feeling alone because I no longer knew where else to put them.

Until my body finally gave up trying to stay quiet for me.

And in that moment, I realized something deeply heartbreaking:

I had spent so much time surviving
that I no longer remembered what it felt like to feel safe.

You are anxious. You are stressed. You cannot shut your brain off.

Before the medication - try the biology.

BREATHING:

Activates the vagus nerve

Shifts sympathetic to parasympathetic

Lowers cortisol within minutes

Measurably improves HRV

GRATITUDE:

Activates prefrontal cortex (calms amygdala)

Elevates dopamine + serotonin

Reduces cortisol long-term

Rewires threat-detection patterns

Your nervous system responds to what you practice. Practice calm.
