The Silence After Always
She was always the first to check in.
"How are you?"
"Have you eaten?"
"How did your day go?"
She remembered birthdays.
She noticed when someone's voice sounded different.
She showed up when people needed her.
Then one day, she became quiet.
Not because she was angry.
She was simply tired of always being the one reaching across the distance.
And something strange happened.
Some people noticed.
Some did not.
At first, the silence frightened her.
She wondered,
"Do I still matter if I am not the one holding everything together?"
That question stayed with her for a while.
Then she understood something.
Being needed and being loved are not the same thing.
Sometimes we become so used to proving our worth through what we do for others that we forget we are worthy even when we are doing nothing at all.
You are still valuable when you do not answer immediately.
You are still lovable when you need rest.
You are still worthy when you are not the one checking on everyone.
Your absence may reveal who notices you.
But their response does not decide your worth.
You do not have to keep reaching for people just to prove that you deserve to be held.
Sometimes, you can put your hands down...
and let someone else reach for you.

Sometimes we live with people who haven't learned how to regulate their own emotions, yet expect everyone around them to keep them happy. It can turn relationships into a constant power struggle: who has to obey, who has to give in, who is allowed to disagree, and who gets blamed when someone feels hurt. This can happen with parents, partners, siblings, or anyone who makes their emotional comfort someone else's responsibility.

The difficult part is learning to separate their emotions from our responsibility, especially when we still live under the same roof. You can care about someone without carrying their anger, disappointment, or expectations as your own. Emotional boundaries don't always mean leaving; sometimes they mean staying in the same room while remembering, “Their feelings are real, but they are not automatically my responsibility.”

Life is like a movie with different chapters. Sometimes, you find yourself carrying a heavy load, feeling down, and looking at an empty space where your dreams should be. People might see the struggle on your head, but they do not know the hidden blessings and treasures you are carrying inside your heart.Never let the delay of today make you regret the good seeds you planted yesterday. When life gets tough, it is just a sign that it is time to be firm, stand your ground, and protect your peace. No matter how long the night lasts, the moon will still shine. Wake up, shake off the worry, and get ready to rise again!
