Another Year
When I was a child,
every birthday felt like an arrival.
Now I know
it is also a quiet departure.
We celebrate another year of life,
rarely remembering
it is one year less to prepare for what comes after it.
Life has a gentle way of deceiving us.
It teaches us to count our years,
but not always our moments.
It teaches us to chase tomorrow,
until tomorrow becomes a memory.
Perhaps that is why every sunset deserves a question.
Did my words heal or wound?
Did my heart soften or harden?
Did I move closer to Allah,
or simply become older?
Maybe growing older is not the greatest achievement.
Maybe becoming better is.
For the days are not waiting for us.
They are quietly returning to the One who gave them.
And if every evening teaches us to hold ourselves accountable,
perhaps every morning becomes another mercy,
another chance to leave this world with a heart gentler than the one we carried yesterday.

Angry as you wish..
And hurt my feelings as you wish,
Smash the flower vases and the mirrors,
Threaten to love another woman..
For everything you do is all the same..
Everything you say is all the same..
For you are like children, my love,
We love them.. no matter how much they wrong us..
Be angry! For you are truly wonderful when you rage,
Be angry! For without the waves, no oceans would be made.

Love is Forbidden

Love is forbidden for me,
This heart cannot love,
I cannot do it.

I wish I could show you the right path,
I wish you could be with me,
But love is forbidden.

Life is short, but the heart remains a child;
For the rest of my life, I will live with your memories.
Your smile is like flowers in bloom,
and your voice is gentle, radiant and sweet.

I will spend my life thinking of you,
I will love you from a distance,
because love is forbidden.

Maybe one day I will forget you,
Humans forget with the passing of time;
People say time heals every wound and every scar.

What They Never See

She trusts with a heart
that has already survived
what many could never bear.

Not because she is fragile,
but because faith has taught her
that goodness still exists.

They mistake her kindness for weakness,
her patience for surrender,
and her silence for having no pain.

They accept her sacrifices
without ever asking what they cost.
They take her for granted,
never realizing
how much of herself she has already given.

What they never see
are the prayers whispered before dawn,
the tears that fall only before Allah,
and the courage it takes
to keep believing after loss.

Still, she chooses mercy over bitterness,
hope over despair,
and trust over fear.

For she knows
that even when people fail to value her,
Allah never overlooks
a sincere heart
or a silent sacrifice.
