YOU CAN DIE THREE YEARS AGO, YET PEOPLE WILL STILL GATHER TO CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY AS IF NOTHING HAS CHANGED.

Honestly, I never knew this was really a thing until I started noticing it.

It makes you stop and think deeply about life.

Someone who was once alive, laughing, talking, making plans, and dreaming about the future is no longer here. They can no longer see the people celebrating them, hear their voices, or join in the happiness of the occasion.

Life has moved on for everyone else, but that person's life on earth has come to an end.

Some people continue celebrating the birthdays of loved ones years after their death. Others remember them through old photographs, videos, and memories. Perhaps these traditions bring them comfort, help them cope with their loss, or give them a way to express the love they still carry in their hearts.

But the reality remains: one day, every one of us will leave this world, and life will continue without us.

The money we worked so hard to earn, the fame we chased, the arguments we had, and the things we considered so important will eventually become part of our past.

People may remember us. They may celebrate our achievements, share our photographs, tell our stories, and speak our names for years after we are gone. But none of us can return to this worldly life once our appointed time has come.

And that is what makes you think.

Are we truly preparing for the day we will leave this world, or are we so busy living that we have forgotten that death can come at any moment?

As Muslims, we must remember that this life is temporary. Our time here is limited, and none of us knows when our final day will come.

What truly matters is not simply how many people will remember us after our death, but how we lived, the good deeds we performed, the rights we fulfilled, the sins we repented from, and whether we prepared for the Hereafter.

Do not wait until someone dies before you appreciate them. Show people love while they are alive. Forgive where you can, make peace where possible, and use your time in this world to do what pleases Allah ﷻ.

One day, we too will become memories in the hearts of those we leave behind.

May Allah ﷻ grant us a good ending, forgive our deceased loved ones, shower them with His mercy, illuminate their graves, and grant them Jannatul-Firdaus.

May He also guide us to live righteous lives and prepare for the day we return to Him.
