Some of you might remember my post here when we brought Summer of Dosti to Dallas.

Well... Dallas went really well 😅

We had a much bigger turnout than we originally expected, and somehow ended up with an almost 50/50 split between men and women, which honestly made a huge difference to the night.

But the part I liked most was watching everyone loosen up once the games started.

Instead of sitting across from someone asking the usual "what do you do, where are you from, what are you looking for?" questions, people were laughing, arguing over who the Kasai was, teaming up, bluffing and getting to see each other's actual personalities.

Now we're bringing Summer of Dosti to Philly on September 20 at Shibam Coffee Co.

Same idea: a singles event made by singles who are also tired of awkward singles events.

We'll be playing Kasai Bakra, the twist on Mafia I created, a version of Taboo, along with icebreakers and plenty of time to just talk.

It isn't speed dating and we're not just putting everyone in a room and hoping for the best. We actually organize the games and groups so you have a reason to meet people without having to awkwardly walk up to strangers.

We're also being pretty intentional about the guest list.

One small example from Dallas: we had a registration where some of the information provided didn't add up. We followed up, still weren't comfortable with it, and ended up cancelling the person's registration.

We'd rather do that than ignore something just to add another person to the room.

And yes, we're keeping a close eye on the guy/girl mix again. Dallas being almost evenly balanced worked really well and we'd love to recreate that in Philly.

Coming alone is totally fine too. Plenty of people did in Dallas.

If you're a Muslim single in Philly between 25–40 and the apps are getting a little old, come hang out with us.
