I have been looking specifically at Indonesian ladies profiles for quite a while now because I intend to visit there. My question/comment applies also to most of S.E.Asia.
The obsession with white skin and heavy heavy makeup is so disappointing.
There is a disproportionately large percentage of profiles where women completely paint their faces with makeup or cannot post a single photo without heavy filters.
I don’t understand. Where does all this insecurity with your brown skin come from ?
It is clearly a cultural thing and I’m sure there is some impact from colonialism and the feeling that you are less because your skin is brown.
The only response I’ve heard from 10+ conversations where I respectfully challenged the practice was
“ I do it for myself to feel comfortable”
Can someone give me another reason ?
Why would you choose to mis-represent yourself to such an extent when at some point the mask will have to come off.

Is it me or does Indonesia have some sort of undercover evilness rituals etc that is not known about
Do things happen that are not spoken of or kept quiet?
Because of how bad our political situation is, I think I need to add this to my criteria: if he's an Indonesian citizen, I'll only accept 01 or 03 voters.
I need a man with good analytical skills and critical thinking.
I'm also so grateful for my extended family because most of them weren't 02 voters, so talking about politics at every family gathering is interesting.
