Black Muslims

As a Black Muslim woman, I’ve recently opened up my preferences and started matching with non Black Muslim men.

My family is so easygoing, Alhamdulillah. As long as the man is a good Muslim, has good character, and treats me well, that’s what matters to them. But I sometimes wonder… are other Muslim families, especially the moms, just as open minded? 😭

I feel like meeting someone in real life can be easier in some ways because you get to know the person and their family naturally. But through an app, you never really know what someone’s family is like or how they might feel about you.

I know every family is different, and I don’t want to assume. But I’d love to hear from other Black Muslim women who have married outside their race. What was your experience with your husband’s family? Were they welcoming? Did you ever have concerns about how they would receive you?

I think in the future there will be a case study on how black features were ostracised at one period of time to only be celebrated on different bodies (through cosmetic treatments).

For example, bigger lips.

And those girls /men who feel bad about having darker skin. I beg you to love yourself and only allow yourself to be loved by people that appreciate you. My future husband wherever he is a dark skin man. I won't be surprised if darker skin is the next trend to be in.
Another thing, why complain about other races being racist to you- why don't you love your own?
