Anyone else look at some of these profiles, sisters of faith, and are able to foresee a future of financial ruin and bankruptcy? 😅

I'm not trying to shame anyone, but I see profiles where these women are anything but modest, posting photos of "glitz and glam," with interests of "travel and shopping," in suggestive poses while in skin tight outfits... All the while asking for "a man of faith," and "a modern Muslim man who is on Deen."

I'm seeing more profiles of women that give off Tinder vibes than someone looking for a serious relationship and marriage...

I guess I just needed to vent a little...

I was in Madinah, staying at a hotel where one of the cooks and waiters had been incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. On my last day, he told me he was finally heading home to see his family. Before leaving, I thanked him and gave him a generous tip.

While I was in the dining hall, he smiled and said, "Please try some of the rice I made." He mentioned that the rest of the food was reserved for another group. I initially declined because I didn't want to take anyone else's food, but he insisted. I only intended to take two or three bites.

Just then, an older man from Gujarat walked over and started shouting at the waiter.

"Are you be-aqal? Have you lost your mind? Why are you giving our food to someone else?"

The whole dining hall went quiet.

I immediately put the plate down and said, "I'm not taking any food. But don't call him brainless. Maybe he was simply being generous."

The man doubled down.

"No, he is brainless!"

Meanwhile, the poor waiter wasn't defending himself. Instead, he started apologising to me.

I looked at him and said, "Don't apologise. You haven't done anything wrong."

Then I turned to the man and said, "You're the one being be-aqal, not him."

His eyes widened.

"How dare you!"

I replied, "No... how dare you? You're in Madinah the city of the Prophet (saww) and you're creating a scene over a few spoonfuls of rice while embarrassing a man in front of everyone."

One of his friends stepped in and said, "Leave it, brother. Just leave it."

So I walked away.

But as I was leaving, I heard him start shouting at the waiter again.

I couldn't ignore it.

I turned around, walked back, looked him in the eye, and said, "Don't be rude to my brother."

He snapped back, "Get lost."

Someone nearby pulled me away before things escalated further. As I was leaving, I said something I now regret:

"This is Madinah, not India where you can treat someone like a Dalit. Leave that behaviour back home."

The moment I said it, he went silent. His face changed, and I walked away.

Looking back, I don't regret defending the waiter. I believe nobody deserves to be publicly humiliated, especially in Madinah. But I do regret my final comment. I should have condemned his behaviour, I was probably wrong to bring in his nationality infront of everyone.
