I have a stable job, but I'm not financially where I'd like to be yet, and I still live with my family. Do people expect someone to have everything figured out before marriage, or is having good character, a steady job, and the determination to build a future together enough?

Is it a dealbreaker if someone is still working toward financial stability, or do the right person, shared values, and sincere intentions matter more than perfect circumstances? I'd genuinely like to hear different perspectives.
