We have over 25 million Muslims globally on Muzz and over 2 million of them use the app and Jamaa (our social network) every month.

That's alot of Muslim eyeballs.

Want to come work for us as we look to help businesses advertise on Muzz?

If you're an experienced solid ad sales person, then this could be a really juicy brand new opportunity for you that'll pay serious $$$ in commission.

🔬 Quick Research: Help us with group privacy naming! (2 min survey)

Hey everyone! 👋
We’re researching how people understand different group privacy and joining permissions.

We’re testing 3 levels:

  • -Level 1: Anyone can find the group, view its content and join instantly.
  • -Level 2: Anyone can find the group, but only members can view its content. People must request to join and wait for admin approval.
  • -Level 3: The group won't appear in search, and only members can view its content. Only admins can invite people via a direct link, allowing them to join without approval.

Please find the link to survey below 👇

Wanted to update you all on our MuzzMeets events we've been testing out.

If you don't know, they're private 8-10 person dinners. You book (5 guys 5 ladies), we book the restaurant and you guys show up grab dinner and get to know each other. The goal being, muzz doesn't need to be present, and we can create opportunities for you guys to meet in locations near to you (not just big cities).

So far so good- we've had some teething issues with check-ins and some ppl buying but not turning up but we've made progress on these.

The big changes happening based on your feedback:

Way better check in process (see who is actually attending on the day)
Ethnicity based dinners (eg black Muslims dinner or Bengali dinner)
Dinners shown two weeks in advance to let you plan (currently we only showed dinners for the following week
All events age capped so attendees don't have too much of an age gap

We're testing in London, but if we can nail this regularly the goal is making this global!

Keep the feedback and ideas coming ia, but in the meantime check out the London events on 22nd and 29th Oct!

Two weeks ago we launched direct advertising on Muzz, without a dedicated ad team. Here's an honest early look at how it's going.

Buy vs build
We planned to get our first two partners live last Friday. We didn't.

To get to market faster, we ran our direct ads through Google AdMob. In practice, its direct ad offering was unreliable and didn't support native ads the way we needed. We could have gone live on time in a lower quality format, but our partners signed up expecting ads that look and feel part of Muzz, and we weren't willing to give them less than that. So we paused, and we're building our own direct ad technology. Our partners now go live in two weeks.

We chose AdMob because buying felt like the safe, fast option. It turned out to be the riskier one, especially now that GenAI has lowered the cost of building. Building was only realistic for us because of the ad expertise in our team. We understand the wider ad ecosystem well, and what we need to build is a small, focused part of it.

Partners signed
Despite the delay, two partners have signed. Brands that want to reach a large, engaged Muslim audience don't have many places to go, and the interest has confirmed that. Converting interest into signed deals is still the hard part. Talking directly with our early partners has been a real strength, giving us unfiltered feedback we're using to improve.

Ad ops without an ad ops team
We used Claude to build our own tool for generating insertion orders and invoices. That admin could easily have become our bottleneck. Instead it takes minutes, and we can keep running with a small team (for now).

Keeping Muzz safe
Our community trusts us with something deeply personal: finding a husband or wife. We take that responsibility seriously, and it matters as much who we work with as what we show. Through ad networks, we've seen too many low quality ads, including inappropriate and sometimes explicit content. With direct advertising, we only partner with legitimate businesses that share our values, and every advertiser and every creative is reviewed by Claude, and always by a human too.
It's early, but the opportunity is exciting. There are very few places where brands can reach Muslims at this scale, in a verified, brand-safe environment.

If you're a charity, Islamic finance provider, wedding business or any brand that wants to reach the Muslim community, especially ahead of Ramadan, find out more at https://muzz.com/advertise?utm_source=jamaa&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=as_post_07_10
