The Seed That Disappears
No one stands above the soil and applauds a seed for disappearing.
From the surface, it looks like the end.
The earth closes over it.

But Allah has not buried it.
He has planted it.
The seed does not become a tree by clinging to daylight.
It grows because it surrenders to a place where no one can see its becoming.
Perhaps that is why we fear hidden seasons.
We mistake being unseen for being forgotten.
We measure growth by applause.
We measure progress by how many people notice.
Yet the greatest transformations in creation begin where no eye can witness them.
Roots are never admired while they are forming.
Still, they are the reason a tree can one day reach toward the sky.
Perhaps the quiet seasons of your life are not empty after all.
Perhaps Allah is growing roots that success alone could never produce.
Do not despise the season that hides you.
The One who brings a tree from a seed has never needed an audience to create something beautiful.
When the time He has written arrives, what was once hidden beneath the soil will not struggle to be seen.
It will simply bloom by the permission of Allah.
And everyone will admire the tree.
Very few will remember the patient faith of the seed.
