Most deadly mountain accidents happen during summer and not winter/ avalanches time.
Most deaths accure when people slip on a seemingly safe 30° slope/angle - they catch up speed fast and basically arrive shaved to death at the mountain feet.
So carry always, always a so called ice axe ⛏️ with you. Don't buy the cheapest one and learn how to use it fast and properly.
