London has changed a lot over the last 20–30 years, and it can definitely feel more crowded, faster, and less tidy in some areas than it used to. That’s a real observation people make — but it’s also a mix of factors, not just immigration.
A few grounded points to keep it accurate:

Population growth: London has grown to ~9 million people. More people = more pressure on streets, transport, housing, and public spaces.
Austerity + local budgets: Over the past decade, many councils cut back on street cleaning, youth services, and public maintenance. That shows up in some areas as litter or feeling “run down”.
Inequality between boroughs: London isn’t uniform. You can go from very clean, wealthy areas (Richmond, Hampstead, parts of Kensington) to heavily stressed inner boroughs within 20–30 minutes.
Immigration is one part of a bigger system: Migration has contributed to London’s growth and diversity, but cleanliness and “feel” of streets is much more linked to local services, density, housing pressure, and infrastructure, not simply who lives there.
On the “it feels worse than before” feeling — that’s also common psychologically when:
You’ve been in the same city for a long time
Your expectations haven’t changed but the city has

More immigration from the third world, less civic sense- dirty streets and no feeling of community!
