Please, if you know I’m older than you, kindly keep scrolling. 😌 No hard feelings at all. Age matters to me, and I’d rather connect with someone in my age bracket or older. Don’t swipe right hoping to convince me I won’t change my mind. Wishing you all the best in finding your person❤️

Day 4 and 5 of our 5 days trek in High Atlas (Toubkal) with my 9yrs old in support of mental health charity.

It was hard. Very hard. Left early morning and made our way to Toubkal Refuge. Weather was improving (getting cooler) with every meter of acend and soon we ended up with coats on.
Set up tent, had a dinner and off to sleep we went just before 7pm. Sleeping at over 3k elevation- with pegs tie to rocks- made one kid very happy tabarakallah!
Woke up at 1.30am and started summit hike at 2am. It was definitely a challenge. The wind. The low temperatures. And gusts that long and strong that one cant breath for nearly a minute at a time (even when u turn ur back to it).
We experienced small rock avalanche too , but gladly we manged to stay safe (although it was scary experience)
Passed few ppl with altitude sickness and that definitely increased my anxiety about my son. But he smashed it. Tabarakallah although he did ended up wearing 4 coats(2 of his and 2 of mine) because of freezing temperatures.
We get to the summit just few minutes before sunrise alhamdulillah. My son was cheered on by tens of people and that definitely boosted his confidence.
Way down was hard...maybe because now we could see how steep it was. 10cm deep loose scree didn't make it easier to walk down.
Back at Refuge we haven't got any rest. Hid the tent, and make our way down to Aroumd, so exhausted but so happy.
It was very challenging hike. I guess we did made it more difficult for ourselves as we hikes 3days straight before the summit but risk of altitude sickness was too high to try to summit it in 2days.

Tabarakallah. Training doesn't stop as we set new chairy adventure for next year.
