Salamwr. Why do some people heal in weeks, and others stay stuck for years — even doing "the same work"?
It's rarely about effort. It's about whether the nervous system feels safe enough to let the change land.
In 21 years of teaching and trauma-informed practice, I've seen the same pattern: people trying to force change from the outside, while the inside stays braced.
Surah 13:11 reminds us — Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves. Change starts inward, not as willpower, but as safety.
Try this today: before your next hard task, take 3 slow exhales longer than your inhales. That's it. That's a nervous system cue, not a mindset trick.
RECLAIM — new hook: "safety is a felt sense, not a fact" (verse 20:25–26)
Have you ever been technically safe, but your body didn't believe it?
That gap — between the facts of your life and the felt sense in your body — is where trauma actually lives. It's not about what happened. It's about what your nervous system still thinks is happening.
This is the exact gap the Reclaiming Body Journey works in. Not talk therapy. Not willpower. Somatic, trauma-informed practice that rebuilds the body's trust, module by module.
Prophet Musa's prayer in Surah 20:25–26 — "expand for me my chest, and ease my task for me" — is a request for capacity before action. That's the order healing actually works in too.
One thing to try tonight: name one place in your body that feels tight right now. Just name it. Naming without fixing is step one.
Comment 🔥 or DM RECLAIM.
