A moderately wealthy person will try to hide their wealth from strangers... why?
Because they want to avoid being targets of lawsuits and criminal acts, and frankly, being the "rich" person in the group where people approach them for money...
So its wise to keep your wealth hidden.
Broke people on the other hand have nothing to loose. So they will flash their borrowed wealth.
