We often discuss what is haram and what is morally unacceptable, including dowry demands, bribery, alcohol and dishonesty. Yet when it comes to choosing a life partner, do we always apply those same values in practice? A person's wealth cannot automatically make him a good husband, just as a modest income cannot make someone a bad one. Financial stability matters, but character determines how someone treats a partner over time. Are our marriage decisions reflecting our stated beliefs, or are our expectations becoming inconsistent?
