I watched Verity tonight and I thought it was pretty decent tbh.
What do we all think about the ending though?

Have you guys noticed in modern horror movies in the last 6 years has heavily put female / feminine figure as monsters/villains as the main focal point, compared the usual male monsters like Jason, Michal Myers, Chucky etc.

  • -

    Hereditary

  • -

    Us

-Annabelle (it’s a doll but it’s a girl doll)

-nun (is a demon portraying a female religious figure)

  • -Abigail

-the substance

  • -

    pearl

  • -

    obsession

  • -

other mommy ( coming out this year)

All these movies are just some that came the last 6 years, there i might be still missing more.

Usually the female lead is the hero of most horror movies and the last survivor, Do you think this might be a shift in Hollywood to make women more scary.

Trailer for other mommy is pretty crazy, especially with the whole stuff that’s happening with mothers and their children in real life.

Back in the days the only horror movies that had a female monsters was ring and grudge, but even in those movies the monsters was a victim of abuse, so they was portrayed as scary but victim at the same time.

Btw i have enjoyed every single one of these movies and i will enjoy other mommy when it comes out too.

Unpopular opinion - I watched Obsession last night for the first time and I thought it was a load of crap. I’ve seen much more better Horror films
