🇬🇧🕌 A group for Muslims in UK, where we celebrate our faith and cultural diversity.
Hi everyone 😊 Just wanted to break my silence and say hello. Don't worry, I'm not a tax collector. 😄
Why Have Muslims Forgotten the Trust Given to Them by Allah?
Forgetting the Amanah (Trust) Given by Allah
Many Muslims today appear to have lost sight of the responsibility and trust Allah has placed upon them. Instead of viewing life as a journey of worship, accountability, and preparation for the Hereafter, worldly pursuits often take priority over spiritual obligations.
The Influence of Westernised Views on Relationships
Ideas about dating, casual relationships, and unrestricted interaction between men and women have become increasingly normalized. Practices that were once viewed as incompatible with Islamic teachings are often embraced without much reflection on how they align with faith and religious values.
The Rise of Constant Chatting and Emotional Attachments
Private conversations, emotional connections, and online interactions with multiple members of the opposite gender have become commonplace. Technology has made these interactions easier than ever, but many fail to consider their spiritual impact and the boundaries encouraged in Islam.
Dating Apps and the Search for Validation
Many people spend significant time on dating platforms seeking attention, companionship, or validation. While some use these platforms with serious intentions, others become absorbed in a culture that prioritizes temporary gratification over sincere commitment and moral discipline.
Forgetting That Life Is Temporary
A major concern is the tendency to live as though this worldly life will last forever. Career goals, entertainment, wealth, and social status can become central focuses, while remembrance of death, accountability, and the Hereafter fades into the background.
Neglecting Salah and Daily Worship
Prayer is one of the greatest obligations and blessings given to believers. Yet for many, salah is delayed, rushed, or abandoned altogether as worldly responsibilities and distractions take precedence.
Turning Away from Charity and Service to Others
Charity, generosity, and concern for those in need are central parts of Islamic character. However, personal comfort and material gain can sometimes overshadow the duty to help others and support the wider community.
Abandoning Reflection on the Qur’an
The Qur’an is recited by many but deeply reflected upon by far fewer. Its guidance, warnings, promises, and wisdom can become neglected when believers fail to engage with its meanings and apply them in their daily lives.
Living for the Dunya as Though It Is Everlasting
Perhaps the greatest danger is becoming attached to the dunya as if it is permanent. Islam repeatedly reminds believers that this life is temporary, while the Hereafter is everlasting. When this reality is forgotten, priorities become distorted and spiritual purpose is lost.
A Call to Return to Allah
The solution is not despair or condemnation, but sincere repentance, self-reflection, and a return to Allah. Through prayer, remembrance, charity, Qur’anic reflection, and conscious obedience, believers can renew their connection with the trust they have been given.

This is already quite common and will only get worse with time as the economy gets more fragile and cost of living goes up.
