Assalam o Alykum,

Hope everyone is doing well. A quote confused me and writing to seek some understanding:

Ibn al-Jawzi says:
If Allāh dislikes a person, He leaves him constantly stumbling and confused in every situation. He does not grant him the aspiration to seek lofty goals, instead he is occupied with vile matters instead of virtuous. And if he asks, ‘Why have I been singled out for this?!’ the reply comes…
A reply that cannot be contested:

‘It is because of what your own hands have earned.’
(Sūrah al-Shūrah, 30)

In life we feel stumbling, confused and not having exceptional goals at multiple stages and in various situations - does this mean Allah dislikes that person?

Sunday يوم الأحد

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr رضي الله عنه narrates that An-Nabiyy ﷺ said:

“Whoever wears a garment [out] of pride and vanity, Allah Ta’ala turns away from him until he takes it off.”

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 3608)

As-Salāmu Alaikum. Begin this day with trust in Allah. Whatever lies ahead, Allah's help is sufficient. May He guide us, protect us, and bless our efforts today. Ameen. 🤲💚

It's around the corner, Muharram 🤍.. I need to be reminded of tasu'a and ashura, hope we'll get there InshaAllah

Ibn Abbas reported:

“I never saw the Prophet so keen to fast a particular day and prefer it over others except the Day of Ashura.” (HR. al-Bukhari)

To distinguish Muslim practice from Jewish tradition, the Prophet intended to add fasting on the 9th of Muharram, known as Tasu’a. He said:

لَئِنْ بَقِيتُ إِلَى قَابِلٍ لَأَصُومَنَّ التَّاسِعَ
“If I live until next year, I will certainly fast on the ninth day.” (HR. Muslim)

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was asked about fasting on the Day of Ashura, and he said:
"It will expiate the sins of the past year."(Sahih Muslim)

Tried getting away for the weekend by the longest route deliberately so that I could finish the book I was reading and do some self reflection.
Made friends in the most unusual and unexpected place.
Got into my airbnb and just cried.
Cried the whole night.
Came back the next day by the early train, made a good friend on the train.
Realised how blessed I am Alhamdulillah
Came back and cried again on my prayer.

You must be wondering why I cried…
Loneliness.

Is there a podcast or book I could look into that portrays how much Allah loves us? So that I can refer back to it when I forget my worth? Or read it to feel loved?

Salam Alaikum everyone! Does not crying in Sujood mean weaker Iman?

I’ve often read and heard reminders about how beautiful it is to "cry your heart out" during sujood. Alhamdullilah, I maintain my daily prayers, pray with sincerity, and use my time in sujood to deeply ask Allah for my needs and wants.
However, even though I try to connect at that emotional level, I’ve found that I cannot literally bring myself to cry. Lately, this has made me overthink—does a lack of tears mean my iman is weak or that my heart isn't soft enough? Or is sincerity in sujood measured differently for everyone?
Would love to hear some perspectives or reminders on this. JazaakAllahu Khayran.
