The father of cats, Abu Hurayrah, would wash up to his armpits. Was he trying to do wudu? Weird.
Is any of this necessary info for one's religous guidance and salvation?
GOD lists 4 wudu steps in the Quran (No armpits):
"O you who believe! When you rise up for prayer, wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, wipe your heads, and wash your feet to the ankles." (5:6)

People who themselves did wrong things in the past spent nights with girls, drank alcohol, and deceived their life partners by making them believe that only they mattered and no one else existed those things do not leave a person easily.
