I guess everyone is busy watching Portugal vs Spain in the Round of 16 right now, and I’m just the lone yapper left wandering around this app.

Apparently, my definition of entertainment has raised a few eyebrows. Which is funny to me, because just because I don’t understand the offside rule doesn’t mean I’m out here staring blankly at a wall between meals.

(I mean to be honest, I do stare at walls sometimes. But that’s a completely separate hobby.)

Some people unwind by watching 22 people chase a ball. I unwind by accidentally writing a love letter to a potato, overthinking a sentence for forty-five minutes, and narrating my own internal monologue like it’s a BBC documentary.

Trust me, boredom and I aren’t even on speaking terms. We’re just entertained by entirely different genres.

Anyway, I’ll leave you all to Portugal vs Spain while I continue my solo TED Talk in the corner of this app.

As I see yet again, unnecessary posts over small petty issues.

Here is a quick reminder again: please stop wasting time on social media over small issues, and spend your time with your parents while you have a chance.

When parents leave us unexpectedly, life won't be the same again and the pain is difficult to overcome.

Time does heal the pain eventually, but everyone deals with it differently.

No one will understand you better than your parents.

Even positive memories with your deceased family members can break you down.

So please use your time wisely.

This is genuinely one more reason why I can’t quit the gym anymore. Not discipline. Not fitness. Certainly not the love of cardio. Nothing that terrifying.

It’s that gloriously crispy-on-the-outside, cloud-soft-on-the-inside, butter-melting-into-every-crevice, perfectly salty jacket potato that comes fresh out of the oven.

I used to tolerate potatoes. We had a professional relationship. Respectable. Dependable. Very Employee of the Month energy. I’d acknowledge their contribution to society and carry on with my life.

Somewhere along the way, things escalated. Now I’m out here planning my workouts around one. This wasn’t on my 2026 bingo card, but here we are.

Anyway, if anyone needs me, I’ll still be dreaming about a potato that no longer exists, trying to remember exactly what it tasted like.
