The Ascetic Paradox
I have now been Muslim for perhaps 20 years. I have yet to master Arabic, Quranic or otherwise, yet, I am more informed about our deen than the average bear. I spent probably a combined decade around various scholars and our leaders, long enough to see a whole new generation emerge. Yet all too often, I feel like I am not doing enough.
My life didn't make allowances for me both to study in the way I would have liked, nor to deepen my deen and further my ilm, as I would have liked. And honestly its a contradiction, a paradox on the one hand I feel as if I have never done enough especially considering the depth of my knowledge and experience, but it also feels irresponsible and selfish to take that time out to do.
Add to that taking on a madhab that is nearly regionally specific, from a place you are nowhere near, and few to no one local or even in your own countey can provide aupportor mentoring, and you create unecessary complications for yourself. So you vent into the void on the social side of a dating app, from your long term single never married middle age, as now a community "uncle" type, when used to be the trouble makwr rebel rouser watched by the FBI type. 😆
On a more serious note, for you younger brother's and sister's, don't over complicate your life or marriage, just marry, and live life. Age and the End catches us all. BUT do worry about one thing, genuinely take time out occassionally, and think forward about this aging thing, and elder care. I now sit at the precipice of my mothers last days, if you are not prepared for these times, and I don't mean emotionally, but make sure all the support, resources and lelgalities are covered for their care, AND that you have taken time to engineer time, space, and circumstances in your own lives for when this time comes. Time off, people to take up the duty of care when you are unavailable to do so.
If you think your morning is bad, just know that I spent twenty minutes fighting my own hair because I couldn't be bothered to tie it up last night currently looking like a lion who lost a fight. 🦁🥲 But honestly, I don't even mind, because I woke up feeling so peaceful. 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗺𝘀, 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆. It felt so incredibly real and good. I’ve heard that seeing a daughter in a dream is a blessing, and I’m choosing to hold onto that feeling today. 💖✨
Many people are driven by their desires, and few are guided by their morals. So if you find someone who chooses principles when they conflict with their self-interest, hold on to them.
I don't understand Why do men and women keep arguing about this? Scammers exist on both sides—there are female scammers, and there are male scammers too. It really depends on whether you choose to entertain them or not. Just be observant when talking to someone online. If a man or a woman asks about your salary or requests pictures in the very first message, it's better not to continue communicating with them. Just ignore them and move on.
And In shā’ Allāh, Allah will guide the right person into your life if you strive to be a good person yourself.🤍
When you want to find a wife, the first thing you ask is it about her job? Guys...come on, in our religion, the man should be a provider. Qs 4 verse 34. Or now everything should be 50 50?
I'm so addicted to ayam gepuk, this place is called Lidah Manja at Wangsa Maju. Personally the best one I had. They nail everything right with good quality food. What they did differently is having bayam goreng and sambal options like habanero, scorpion and ghost peepper. It's different than cili padi but very addiciting. Fair warning, it's very SPICY🌶️🔥
Any girl ???
