A gentle reminder for everyone on this journey:

Not every conversation will turn into marriage.
Not every match will become your spouse.

And that’s okay.

What’s meant for you won’t need to be forced. The right person will bring peace, not constant confusion.

Keep your intentions sincere, your standards reasonable, and your trust in Allah strong.

May Allah make this journey easy for everyone searching for a righteous spouse. Ameen. 🤍

🟣 More Than Just a Metro Seat 🚊
Growing up, giving up my seat for a woman on public transport never felt like a question. It was simply what I had seen decent men around me do.

Somewhere over the years, however, something quietly changed. Endless conversations around equality, reciprocity, and "why should men always…" slowly found a place in my own thinking too.

Now, while returning home from the office, I generally manage to get a seat in the metro since it's the source station. Yesterday, I settled into my seat, opened my iPad, and started reading The Economist, as I usually do if I get a seat.

A lady came and stood right in front of me.
A part of me wanted to get up.
Another part kept manufacturing reasons not to.
It's only a few stations.
Nobody else is getting up either.
Why not complete reading these articles?

Strange how quickly the mind learns to manufacture arguments when it wants comfort more than conviction.
So I buried myself deeper into the article, trying to silence the growing discomfort within.

We got down at the same station.
That's when I noticed something I hadn't paid attention to before.
I had one backpack.
She was carrying two bags...a backpack and a handbag.

I don’t know why…But that image made me even more uncomfortable.

After Esha, I narrated the entire incident to my Shaykh, along with some of the modern opinions that often do the rounds these days.

He listened patiently and simply said,
"Dawah was never about WORDS.
Dawah is about CONDUCT.
When you visibly carry your Muslim identity, every ordinary interaction becomes a testimony. Sometimes, conduct speaks long before words do."

I sarcastically replied that going by that logic, we will have to remain standing/giving seat till the Day of Qiyamah.

Now, instead of advice he gave me a lense through which to see the entire incident.

"When you give up that seat, don't merely think you've sacrificed a few minutes of comfort. Rather ask Allah swt that if this small deed is worthy of acceptance, let it become a means of softening that person's heart towards Islam.

Indeed, guidance belongs to Him but good conduct has always been one of its doors.

And, if standing for others ever leaves your legs tired, come after Esha. I'll massage them for you."

I knew he wasn't really talking about a massage. He was teaching me that if he expected sacrifice from me, he was prepared to share its burden. In that moment, all that I had brought with me suddenly felt very small.
How does one continue speaking when confronted with such humility?
I sat there… speechless.

When I pondered over it a bit more while returning home from Masjid, I realised...
You can win many arguments.
But arguments rarely win people.

Winning hearts demands something different...to give before counting, to serve before measuring, and to do good even when reciprocity is uncertain.

Now, modern life often teaches us to be calculative in every interaction. To invest only where returns seem likely.

Islam, I feel, simply redirects things. It simply asks us to change where we seek our return.

Not from people… but from Allah swt.
When the One you're seeking from never lets even the weight of an atom's good deed go unrewarded, kindness ceases to be a transaction. It becomes ibadah.

<CUSTOM_BOLD>Aa tujhe bataun, mujhe tujhse mohabbat kyun hai,
Tere har sitam ke badle, mera martaba badha hai.</CUSTOM_BOLD>

Every discomfort endured for His sake is, indeed, another step closer to Him.

The metro ride lasted barely half an hour.
The lesson, InshaAllah, will stay with me far longer.

May Allah swt purify our intentions, forgive our shortcomings and grant us the ability to live these lessons before speaking about them...✍️🤲

I’ll leave you all, my dear sisters and brothers, with a question that extends far beyond a metro seat...

Do you think modern life is making us more calculative in our kindness? 🤔

Here's a scenerio for the good men of jamaa 🥁

Your wife has been coming home quieter than usual. At first it’s small things short answers, forced smiles. Then one night, she finally opens up: Her coworkers have been excluding her from meetings, making passive aggressive comments, it's high-school once again. What would you do as a husband? 🧔🏽‍♂️
