When The Sun Becomes A Reminder ☀️
_The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Allah will shade seven people under His shade on the Day when there will be no shade except His shade:
- A just ruler.
- A young person who grew up in the worship of Allah.
- One whose heart is attached to the masajid.
- Two people who love one another for the sake of Allah, meeting and parting upon that.
- A man who is tempted by a woman of beauty and status, but says, ‘Indeed, I fear Allah.’
- One who gives charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has spent.
- One who remembers Allah in private and his eyes overflow with tears.”_</CUSTOM_BOLD>

As we all melt together through this UK heatwave (yes… Britain has officially declared 27°C to be the surface of the sun ☀️😭), let it remind us of a far greater Day that each and every one of us will face.
If this brief spell of heat has us sleeping with every window open, standing in front of the fridge pretending we’re “just looking,” and treating a fan like it’s our lifelong soulmate, then imagine the Day of Judgement, when the sun will be brought just a mile above our heads and that Day will last for 50,000 years.
Rather than simply counting down until the rain returns (which half the country is already doing 😭), let’s use this heat as a reminder to strive to become one of those seven people who will be granted Allah’s shade on the Day when there will be no shade except His.
Life has a funny way of testing us. One week we’re making dua for sunshine. 🤲🏻 The next we’re wondering whether it’s socially acceptable to sit inside the freezer. 🤔Before you know it, we’ll be wrapped in blankets complaining that it’s freezing again.
Maybe gratitude is the better forecast.?
Alhamdulillah for a cold glass of water. 🚰
Alhamdulillah for a fan that sounds like it’s preparing for take-off. 🪭
Alhamdulillah for freezers full of ice cream. 🍨
Alhamdulillah for tomorrow’s BBQ. 🍗
And above all, Alhamdulillah for every reminder that turns our hearts back to Allah before the _Day_when we’ll need His mercy more than anything else.
May Allah make us among those honoured with His shade on the Day when there will be no shade except His. Ameen. 🤲🏻
