In terms of compatibility in marriage, I find some people prefer a spouse who may they share similar personality with, while some prefer someone who has complete personality than them to complement them.

For example, someone who has a diplomatic approach in their communication style may prefer someone who is blunt and straightforward.
While that may create a spark in the initial stage ( _ the opposites attract _), it has the potential to cause a long-term strain in the marriage.

Where unconsciously emotions may get hurt repeatedly and the requirement of an extra amount of effective communication to solve it.

This leads to the conclusion that it may seem easier for the diplomatic person to be with someone of similar personality that can read well their indirect communication style. Where they both are sensitive and in tune with each other's emotions and vice versa for the blunt person.

May Allah SWT grant all seekers pious spouses and fulfilling marriages ameen.

As much as I want companionship, marriage, a family to call my own... maybe after years of looking, its not meant to be. Allah swt knows best. Spent decades lookin for the one, but this world judges for what you lack rather than what you have.
