Advice to men as your sister in Islam.
Assalamualaikum my dear brothers in Islam. My name is Latonian which translates to Hamida or Hameeda in Arabic.
I do ask for verification of information and identity irregardless of whether we remain matched or not. It wasted my time and yours if you approach me but refuse to give vital information that's important for us to get married in the first place.
How am I supposed to get married to a man whose full government name I don't know or his real age and date of birth? I also have a Wali so....make the refusal make sense.
I do see this refusal as something deceptive. Why would you refuse to give a woman you are speaking to for marriage the security that you are who you say you are? Our I-9 proves that. Getting to know you process is like a job interview. Once you make statements about yourself, I expect that you are able to back those statements up.
I shouldn't have been on muzz this long. Only one man willingly did this. The only issue was that at the time he confirmed his identity that I didn't have a Wali. Now that I have one, it seems the men I match with don't respect that process.
