Marriage in Islam 🌿
Marriage in Islam is not merely a social contract—it is a blessed act of worship, a Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, and one of the greatest means of protecting one's faith, chastity, and character.
Allah ﷻ says:
«"And among His signs is that He created for you from yourselves spouses that you may find tranquillity in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy."
— Qur'an 30:21»
The Prophet ﷺ said:
«"Marriage is from my Sunnah, and whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not of me."
— Sunan Ibn Mājah (1846)»
He ﷺ also said:
«"O young people! Whoever among you is able to marry should marry, for it helps lower the gaze and guard chastity."
— Sahih al-Bukhari (5066), Sahih Muslim (1400)»
A righteous spouse is one of the greatest blessings in this life. A marriage built upon faith, sincerity, patience, mercy, and the remembrance of Allah brings peace to the home and strengthens the Ummah.
May Allah ﷻ bless every unmarried Muslim with a righteous, God-fearing spouse, fill every marriage with love, mercy, and barakah, and grant us all the ability to follow the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ. Āmīn.
