All Things Marriage 💍
Let’s break it down so it’s easy. I’ll cover it from Islamic + practical angle since we were talking deen before.

1. Purpose of Marriage in Islam

  1. <CUSTOM_BOLD>Half of Deen</CUSTOM_BOLD>: The Prophet (s.) said "Whoever gets married has completed half of his religion"
  2. <CUSTOM_BOLD>Sakinah, Mawaddah, Rahmah</CUSTOM_BOLD>: Allah made marriage for peace, love, and mercy - Surah Ar-Rum: 21
  3. <CUSTOM_BOLD>Protection</CUSTOM_BOLD>: From haram, and for building a Muslim family/society

2. Pillars of a Valid Nikah - 5 things must have
*Pillar What it means
1. Wali Guardian for the bride. Father, then brother, then closest male relative
2. Two Witnesses 2 Muslim male, or 1 male + 2 female witnesses
3. Ijab & Qubul Offer and acceptance: "I marry you" / "I accept"
4. Mahr/Dowry Gift from groom to bride. Can be money, gold, Quran, anything
5. Consent Both bride and groom must agree willingly. No force
3. Sunnahs Before + During Marriage

  1. </CUSTOM_BOLD>Istikhara<CUSTOM_BOLD>: Pray for guidance before deciding
  2. </CUSTOM_BOLD>Meeting<CUSTOM_BOLD>: See each other with mahram present to decide
  3. </CUSTOM_BOLD>Khutbah<CUSTOM_BOLD>: Nikah khutbah by the Imam
  4. </CUSTOM_BOLD>Walimah<CUSTOM_BOLD>: Wedding feast. Even if just with 1 goat/sheep
  5. </CUSTOM_BOLD>Dua on wedding night<CUSTOM_BOLD>: "Allahumma inni as'aluka khairaha wa khaira ma jabaltaha alaih"

4. Rights & Responsibilities
Husband's rights: Respect, obedience in ma'ruf, take care of home
Husband's duties: Nafaqah - food, shelter, clothing. Good treatment Surah Nisa: 19
Wife's rights: Mahr, maintenance, kind treatment, time
Wife's duties: Protect husband’s honor/wealth, take care of home

Golden rule for both*: “The best of you are those who are best to their wives”[Tirmidhi]

Today Im crying from the sadness of never been loved.

Maybe tomorrow I will be crying from the joy of being eternally loved.

Maybe the dice can roll to a 6-6.

Its all for the Maker to say - Kun Faya Kun.
