Behind the scenes, their families were arranging a massive ₹17-crore royal wedding in Udaipur, complete with private planes to fly in guests. However, Siya was secretly in a year-long relationship with Chetan Chaudhary and viewed her fiancé as an obstacle. Desperate to escape the arranged marriage without her family's knowledge, she began executing a series of calculated plots to eliminate Ketan. In early June, Siya stole, tore up, and disposed of her own passport in a hotel washroom to forcefully cancel their scheduled pre-wedding shoot in Bali. When that travel delay only bought her a limited amount of time, she shifted to a far more lethal strategy. On June 14, just four days before the final murder, Siya lured Ketan to Lohagad Fort near Pune and attempted to push him off a steep cliff. Ketan miraculously survived by catching onto nearby bushes. When he questioned her in shock, Siya quickly covered her tracks by screaming "snake, snake!" and hugging him, claiming she had simply been startled into a panic. Unaware of the danger, Ketan continued planning an elaborate birthday celebration for her, booking 40 luxury rooms in Mahabaleshwar. Seizing the opportunity,Siya used her birthday on June 18 as the ultimate trap to lure him right back to the exact same cliffside.This time, Chetan Chaudhary lay in wait at the site. Together, the duo ambushed Ketan, struck him with an object, and successfully pushed him 400 feet into the deep gorge. Hours later, Siya posted a mournful Instagram story feigning heartbreak over his "accidental slip," despite her cold blooded murder of Ketan. When it was reported to the Police that Ketan was a frequent trekker and there might be a foul play in his death, police interrogated Siya when they came to know about her relationship with Chetan.
