Marriage is not just about finding someone who fits your expectations.

It is about becoming someone who can love with mercy, communicate with maturity, take accountability, and treat another person’s heart as an amanah.

A husband and a wife both carry responsibility, not just roles.

May Allah protect us from people who want commitment without the character to honour it.

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

"When anyone of you goes to bed, he should dust it off thrice with the edge of his garment, and say:

« بِاسْمِكَ رَبِّ وَضَعْتُ جَنْبِي وَبِكَ أَرْفَعُهُ، إِنْ أَمْسَكْتَ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لَهَا، وَإِنْ أَرْسَلْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا بِمَا تَحْفَظُ بِهِ عِبَادَكَ الصَّالِحِينَ »

Bismika Rabbi wada'tu janbi, wa bika arfa'uhu. In amsakta nafsi faghfir laha, wa in arsaltaha fahfazha bima tahfazu bihi 'ibadakas-salihin

In Your Name O Lord, I put my side (on the bed), and in Your (Name) I will rise (from) it. If You should capture my soul, then forgive it; and if You should release it, protect it with what You protect Your righteous slaves."
