I couldn't care less what a girl wears. They're not gonna go in my grave or vice versa. You can wear a swimsuit for all I care but then don't mention 'Strictly practicing' and 'Niqab' in your profile. It's not about judging but playing by the rules and making things easier for everybody. Putting 'Strictly practicing' in your profile and then not even observing proper hijab is factually antithetical. It's like me saying I am strictly practicing and then having one of my photos in thigh-length shorts. It's like saying "I maintain a good oral hygiene but I don't brush."

There are other tags like 'Occasionally practicing', 'Does not practice', or even 'Actively practicing'. Go with 'Modest', 'No religious dress', or even 'Hijab' and I'm sure you'd find someone looking for those filters as well inshallah. If 'Strictly practicing' doesn't even mean you're doing the BARE MINIMUM, respectfully, you are wasting your and others' time. Five times namaz, roza, zakat, beard, proper hijab for both men and women come under the BARE MINIMUM.

Not everyone has hours to spend on these matrimonial apps to sift through hundreds of incompatible profiles. If one has created a paid account on here that means he's serious in his search. Filters are there to make his search easier.

When i saw the filter refining the search based on whether a girl wears niqab/jilbab, I was pretty impressed coz I didn't find it any other matrimonial app and I'm using 3 others (paid). When I'm putting 'Strictly practicing' and 'Niqab' in my filters, I'm expecting my searches to AT THE VERY LEAST be in proper hijab (no neck, bunch of hair or forearms etc showing), otherwise it renders the filter meaningless. If even one of the photos uploaded is not in proper hijab that's a waste of time.

So please please please , be a bit more cautious while putting those tags in your profile so it's easier for someone who's looking for the person like you to get to your profile. May Allah send your way the man/woman of your dream. Peace out ✌️
