Narcissism is such an odd thing. Imagine having such a lack of basic empathy that you can go above and beyond to destroy someone over the tiniest inconvenience.

Imagine that in literally any other context:
“I got a bit of mud on my shoe, I must now roll around in dog sht”
“I didn’t eat lunch on time, I’ll starve myself for 5 days”

It’s hilariously stupid, but somehow it’s “logical” for many people.

Often time, the problem isn’t that life is unfair. It’s that we’ve created our own expectations of what life should look like and when things should happen.

I should be married by now.
I should be further along in life.
I deserve better than this.

And maybe we do deserve good things. But who told us they have to arrive on our timeline?

We spend so much time thinking about what’s missing that we forget to appreciate what’s already there. The health we wake up with, the people who love us, the peace we sometimes take for granted, and the countless blessings we never even asked for.

There’s something beautiful about learning to be content without giving up on what you hope for. To want love without feeling incomplete without it. To work toward a better life without being ungrateful for the one you have.

And maybe that’s where sabr and shukr meet. Having the patience to trust Allah’s timing and the gratitude to appreciate His blessings along the way.

Because real happiness isn’t always about getting everything we want. Sometimes, it’s realizing how much we already have. Stop complaining and start living!

May Allah grant us hearts that remain grateful while waiting for what’s written for us.

The most rebellious thing you can do is seek joy in a world that demands you live in fear.

I feel we have all come across this type of person before. It’s a real ⚡️ shock ⚡️ to the system to come face to face with this level of audacity.

It can really ruin quality of life and all relationships if you talk to a person like this.

  1. Get mad that they hurt YOUR feelings

  2. Surprised when you achieved something

  3. Ruin a holiday or special event with a tantrum directly before

  4. Treating service staff badly or putting anyone below them

  5. Jealous of any of your accomplishments

  6. Jealous of your career opportunities, your friends or your pets

  7. If you feel guilty for needing anything from them

  8. You don’t want to be their emotional support because you will then have to end up comforting them

  9. They expect you to treat their family better than your own family

  10. If they get annoyed when you make a mistake

May Allah SWT protect us from being this manipulative or treating others like this
