I've heard that love and marriage can take people from Abuja to Igbo-Ora and everywhere in between.
But are we saying someone can actually leave Nigeria for a place like Cairo to marry a stranger they can't even communicate with directly?

My business is in Lagos. My home is in Oyo Town for now. My children live with their mother. Distance is part of my life in more than one way.

It is not always easy. But I keep my promises small and real: I check in, I provide, I pray, and I keep working toward the day I can offer them more. I'm not there yet. I'm moving toward it.

What keeps you going when life keeps you far from what matters most?

I have run my business for 16 years. I lost a lot along the way, and I am building it again.

Right now I work a teaching job, and I am building a tool that shows business owners who is really buying from their ads. It is slow work, but I would rather build slowly and honestly than fast with lies.

What are you building these days?

My parents won't allow me marry anyone who isn't from my tribe, like what do you mean? At this age and time? The moment you say that I'm already irritated sef and no matter how much I like you that love logs off. I mean not been with someone because of differences or personal conviction is valid but tribe haba na. And the fact that your parents are the one making such decisions for you as an adult above 30 o

Some years ago, I was very low. I had lost a lot, and I did not know how I would stand again.

One night, I sat down and made a list of what I still had. My faith. My children. My skills. My name. The list was short, but it was enough to start again.

I still live in Oyo Town today, and I am working toward moving to Lagos. I am not there yet. But that list reminds me to be thankful and to keep going.
