Ṣalāh A Simple Guide

Ṣalāh is more than just an obligation.
It is our daily connection with Allah a moment to pause, remember Him, seek His help, and return our hearts to Him.

When you want to spend your life with someone, 🫠

you don’t look for flaws in them.

After everythings happened, may Allah gives us opportunity to go Mecca and Medina for Hajj or umrah.. 🤲

Reminder.

Dear Sisters,

Marriage does not erase your identity or your lineage.

A woman should not deliberately change or deny her father's lineage and claim another man's lineage simply because she has married him.

Allah ﷻ says:

“Call them by their fathers; that is more just in the sight of Allah.”
— Qur’an 33:5

The Prophet ﷺ also gave a severe warning against knowingly attributing oneself to someone other than one's father.

So don't say:

“Everyone does it.”
“It's just a surname.”
“It's what society expects.”

The standard of a Muslim is not what the majority does.

Our concern should be:

“What pleases Allah?”

If a woman uses her husband's surname as a social or administrative convention without intending to deny her actual lineage, scholars have discussed the details. But deliberately denying one's father or falsely claiming another lineage is a serious matter.

Your marriage is beautiful.
Your husband's family can become your family through marriage.

But your lineage remains your lineage.

🤲 May Allah give us the courage to follow the truth even when it differs from what has become common, and grant us knowledge to distinguish culture from the teachings of Islam.

Āmīn.

Imagine receiving the message: "Your Hajj visa has been approved."

What's the first thing you'd do?

Dear Muslim brothers and sisters,

As Muslims, we should be careful about what we imitate, what we normalize, and what we allow into our lives.

Islam teaches us to have our own distinct identity and to follow the Qur’an and Sunnah rather than blindly following every practice that becomes popular around us.

“Whoever imitates a people is one of them.”

But we must also understand this principle correctly. Not every ordinary thing that non-Muslims do becomes haram simply because they do it. The issue is particularly relevant when a practice is a distinctive religious practice, or when a Muslim deliberately imitates something contrary to Islam.

For example:📌📌

1. Eating and drinking with the left hand

The Prophet ﷺ instructed us to eat and drink with the right hand and said that Shayṭān eats and drinks with his left hand.

So when we have the ability, let us follow the Sunnah and eat and drink with our right hand.

2. Alcohol and intoxicants

☝️ Allah ﷻ says:

“O you who believe! Intoxicants, gambling, idols, and drawing lots are all evil from the work of Shayṭān. So avoid them so that you may be successful.”

Qur’an 5:90

This is not merely a matter of culture. Alcohol is clearly prohibited in Islam.

3. Celebrating birthdays

A Muslim should be careful about adopting celebrations that have no basis in the Qur’an and authentic Sunnah, especially when they are connected to customs or religious practices that Islam did not prescribe.

The issue of birthdays should therefore be approached with knowledge, not simply because “everyone does it.”

Before we participate in any celebration, we should ask ourselves:

Did the Prophet ﷺ do this?
Did his Companions do this?
Is there evidence for it in Islam?
Or am I simply following a culture because it is popular?

And brothers and sisters, we should also be careful with our words.

Saying something such as “Ya Allah, why is this happening to me?” or “Ya Allah, when will my hardship end?” is not automatically kufr or haram. A person may be expressing pain and asking Allah for relief. What matters is what is meant by the statement and whether a person is objecting to Allah's decree.

The believer can cry, ask Allah questions, complain to Allah, and ask Him for help.

🗣️ Yaʿqūb عليه السلام said:

“I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah.”

Qur’an 12:86.

So let us not declare ordinary expressions haram without evidence.

My dear brothers and sisters, the point is simple:

Don't follow something merely because it is popular.
Don't imitate something merely because everyone around you does it.
Don't make haram look halal because society has normalized it.
And don't call something haram without knowledge either.

Learn your religion.

Follow the Qur’an.

Follow the authentic Sunnah.

Ask the people of knowledge when you don't know.

And when you make a mistake, return to Allah and repent.

The goal is not to look down on other people. The goal is to protect our own īmān, our own hearts, and our own relationship with Allah.

May Allah ﷻ give us beneficial knowledge, protect us from Shayṭān, keep us firm upon the Qur’an and authentic Sunnah, and help us distinguish between what is truly halal, what is haram, and what we simply assume is haram without evidence.

It teaches us that wealth is a test, hardship is a test, and our true success is in remaining faithful to Allah through every situation.

Most beautifully, Allah says:

“O tranquil soul, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing to Him. Enter among My servants. Enter My Paradise.”

May Allah grant us peaceful hearts, patience during every trial, and make us among those whom He calls “the tranquil soul.” May He bless our families, forgive our sins, and grant us jannat firdous 🌹
