Hajj and Umrah

Some brothers and sisters don't pray Istikhārah anymore… 😂

They just post one beautiful picture and wait.

Then the replies start:

“Wow, you're beautiful 😍”

“Ma shā’ Allah ❤️”

“You're gorgeous.”

“Can I get to know you?”

“Beautiful queen.”

“Handsome king.”

“Your smile 😍”

And suddenly…

THAT'S THEIR DIVINE SIGN. 😂😭

No ṣalāh.

No serious investigation.

No consultation.

No asking about deen and character.

Just:

“Who replied to my picture?” 👀

And whoever gives the sweetest compliment becomes:

“Maybe Allah sent this person to me.” 😭

NO, MY BROTHER. NO, MY SISTER. 😂

Istikhārah isn't a comment section.

It's not the number of likes.

It's not who viewed your story.

It's not who slid into your DMs.

And it's certainly not:

“He called me beautiful, so maybe he's the one.”

Istikhārah is turning to Allah and asking Him to choose what is best for your religion, your life and your future.

Then you still take the proper means:

Ask questions.
Investigate character.
Look at their deen.
Consult trustworthy people.
Consider compatibility.
And then put your trust in Allah.

A compliment can make you feel good.

A comment can make you smile.

But neither one is revelation. 😂

Don't confuse attention with guidance.

Pray Istikhārah.
Use wisdom.
Seek counsel.
And let Allah guide you.

Allah knows best.

You’re in her DMs.

I’m in her Istikhārah.

You’re trying to get her attention.

I’m asking Allah whether she is good for my deen and my future.

You’re sending compliments.

I’m making duʿāʾ.

You’re trying to impress her.

I’m trying to become the kind of man worthy of a righteous wife.

You’re chasing a reply.

I’m seeking Allah’s guidance.

You’re in her DMs.
I’m in her Istikhārah.

We’re not the same. 🤍

But remember: Istikhārah isn't a magical sign that guarantees a specific person is “the one.” You still take the halal means, investigate character and compatibility, consult trustworthy people, and then place your trust in Allah.

If Allah opens the door, say Alḥamdulillāh.

If Allah closes it, say Alḥamdulillāh.

Because the believer doesn't only ask Allah for what he wants.

He asks Allah to choose what is best for him.

Allah knows.

We don't.
