The Dua You Almost Stopped Making
There is a dua you have been making for so long that you hardly notice yourself saying it anymore.
You make it after salah.
You make it in sujood.
You make it when something reminds you of it.
Then time passes.
Nothing changes.
And slowly, the words begin to feel different.
You still ask Allah for it, but the excitement you once had is gone.
You are tired of asking.
Tired of waiting.
Still asking, though.
And I think there is something worth noticing in that.
After all this time, your heart still turns to Allah with the same request.
You could have stopped making the dua altogether.
But you did not.
Not because you know when the answer will come.
Not because you know what the answer will look like.
You simply know that Allah is the One you turn to.
So make the dua again.
Even when your voice sounds tired.
Even when your heart does not feel as hopeful as it once did.
Allah hears the dua you make with tears.
And He hears the one you barely have the strength to say.
Keep asking.
Keep trusting Him with what you cannot carry alone.
And when you have nothing new to say, say it again.
Ya Allah, You know.
Sometimes that is all the heart can manage.
And Allah knows exactly what the heart means.
