Dear Muslims,

The way some Muslim families take birthday celebrations so seriously, and take certain other celebrations so seriously, you would think they were acts of ʿibādah.

The money.
The preparation.
The decorations.
The outfits.
The photographs.
The entertainment.

And sometimes, while celebrating, people engage in things that are themselves prohibited:

  • -Music and inappropriate entertainment
  • -Immodest clothing and exposing the ʿawrah
  • -Sexualized dancing
  • -Free mixing and inappropriate interactions
  • -Vulgar speech
  • -Extravagance and waste
  • -Missing or delaying Ṣalāh
  • -Showing off for social-media attention

SubḥānAllah. 💔

We can become extremely serious about celebrations while becoming careless about the commands of Allah.

Ask yourself:📌📌

Would we put this much effort into our Ṣalāh?
Would we be this passionate about Qur’an?
Would we take learning the Dīn this seriously?

A Muslim should not measure right and wrong by what has become popular or normal in society.

If something displeases Allah, its popularity does not make it pleasing to Him.

Let us examine our priorities.

May Allah guide us, purify our intentions, protect our families from sin, and make us people who take His commands more seriously than worldly customs and celebrations.

Āmīn. 🤲🏽

DEAR MUSLIMS, WAKE UP.

Allah ﷻ says in Sūrat al-Baqarah:📌

“…And they will continue to fight you until they turn you back from your religion, if they are able.”
Qur’an 2:217

This verse is a serious warning about those who seek to turn believers away from their religion.

And today, we should honestly ask ourselves:

What is pulling Muslims away from Allah?

Football ⚽
Music concerts 🎵
Birthdays 🎂
Dating and relationships ❤️
TV series 📺
Endless scrolling 📱
Entertainment that consumes hours and hours…

Not everything on this list has the exact same ruling, and we should not declare something ḥarām merely because it is popular. But when entertainment contains ḥarām, wastes our time, causes us to miss Ṣalāh, exposes us to immorality, promotes shamelessness, or becomes an obsession that distracts us from Allah—then a Muslim must have the courage to step back.

The problem is that some Muslims now normalize everything.

If you refuse to participate, they say:📌

“You're too extreme.”
“You're old-fashioned.”
“You're antisocial.”
“You're missing out.”
“This is civilization.”

But since when did popularity become the standard for truth?

Allah is the standard.
The Qur’an is the standard.
The authentic Sunnah is the standard.

A Muslim does not need to participate in every trend just because society has accepted it.

Ask yourself:

How much time am I giving entertainment—and how much time am I giving Allah?

How many hours can we spend watching a series, but struggle to spend a few minutes with the Qur’an?

How easily can we stay awake for entertainment, but complain when it is time for Fajr?

How excited are we about worldly events, yet how little do we prepare for the meeting with Allah?

This is the wake-up call.

Enjoy what Allah has made permissible, but do not allow entertainment to become your purpose.

Don't let the dunya become so attractive that you forget the Ākhirah.

May Allah protect our hearts, preserve our īmān, keep us away from ḥarām, and make us people who recognize truth even when the world normalizes falsehood.

اللهم ثبت قلوبنا على دينك
O Allah, keep our hearts firm upon Your religion.

Āmīn. 🤲🏽

Reminder

It’s 1448 AH, and yet…

📖 The Qur’an is still the Qur’an.
☝🏽 Tawḥīd is still Tawḥīd.
✅ Halāl is still Halāl.
❌ Ḥarām is still Ḥarām.
🕌 Ṣalāh is still obligatory.
🤲🏽 The Sunnah is still the Sunnah.

Times change.
Technology changes.
Fashion changes.
Society changes.
People’s opinions change.

But Allah’s commands do not become outdated because society changes.

No amount of “civilization,” modernization, popularity, or social acceptance can turn what Allah made Ḥarām into Halāl.

And likewise, something Allah made Halāl does not become Ḥarām simply because people dislike it or society has moved on.

Our standard is not:✍️

“What does everyone do?”

Our standard is:📌

“What does Allah say?”

May Allah give us the courage to follow the truth even when it is unpopular, protect us from blindly following every trend, and keep our hearts firm upon the Qur’an and authentic Sunnah.

May Allah guide us all and keep us steadfast upon His Deen.

Āmīn. 🤲🏽

In Islam, love language isn’t flowers or gifts, it’s mentioning someone in your duas when they don’t even know.🤲🏻

Even on marriage platforms, an abundance of choices can sometimes create a mindset of endless searching, always wondering if there is someone “better” just one profile away. when people start treating potential life partners like endless options, sincerity can quietly disappear.
