“La ilaha illa anta, subhanaka, inni kuntu minaz-zalimin.”

Ya Allah, You are my only refuge. To You I turn, for You I live, and upon You I place my trust until my final breath. May I live and die as Your faithful servant.

This is what I mean, ya Allah...

I will not be angry with any circumstance, nor will I seek revenge on anyone. Instead, let You repay every pain I have endured with abundant blessings, a prosperous livelihood, a peaceful heart, a sound mind, and ease in all my affairs.-

THEY’LL TELL YOU, “LIFE IS TOO SHORT.”

So they’ll say:📌

  • -Enjoy yourself.
  • -Do whatever makes you happy.
  • -Live however you want.
  • -You only live once.
  • -Have fun before it’s too late.

BUT WHY DON’T THEY REMIND YOU THAT THE HEREAFTER IS FOREVER?

Why don’t they tell you:📌

  • -Worship Allah ﷻ.
  • -Obey His commands.
  • -Fear Him in private and in public.
  • -Make Duʿā’ and seek His forgiveness.
  • -Stay away from Ḥarām, even when everyone around you normalizes it.
  • -Guard your Ṣalāh.
  • -Repent before death reaches you.
  • -Do good deeds while you still have the opportunity.
  • -Prepare for the day you will stand before your Creator.

They remind you that life is short, but do they remind you that your time to prepare for the Hereafter is also limited?

They encourage you to enjoy this temporary world, but who will remind you of the grave?

Who will remind you of the Day of Judgment?

Who will remind you that you will stand before Allah and answer for your deeds?

Who will remind you that the pleasures of this world will end, but the Hereafter will not?

Allah ﷻ says:☝️☝️

وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ

“While the Hereafter is better and more lasting.”

📖 Qur’an 87:17

SubḥānAllāh! Why can’t we see it?

We are so afraid of missing out on this world, yet how often do we fear missing out on the reward of the Hereafter?

We spend hours chasing happiness, money, attention, followers, and worldly pleasures, but sometimes struggle to give Allah a few minutes of sincere worship.

We plan for tomorrow as though we are guaranteed to see it, yet we barely prepare for the day when our worldly plans will come to an end.

Dear Muslim, Islam does not forbid every lawful enjoyment. But never let temporary pleasures make you forget your eternal destination.

Enjoy what Allah has made lawful. Thank Him for your blessings. But do not trade your Hereafter for a moment of pleasure that may leave you with regret.

Life is short. Death is real. The Hereafter is everlasting.

So worship Allah while you are alive. Repent while the door of repentance remains open. Do good while you still have the strength. And return to Allah before you are returned to Him.

May Allah guide our hearts, forgive our sins, protect us from the temptations of this world, and grant us Jannatul-Firdaws through His mercy.

Āmīn, Yā Rabb.

WHEN YOU DIE, YOUR QIYĀMAH HAS BEGUN. THINK ABOUT IT.

When you die, your personal journey into the Hereafter begins. The Day of Judgment may not have arrived for the world, but your life in this world has ended, and you have entered the reality of the Barzakh.

THINK ABOUT HOW CLOSE DEATH CAN BE.

You can wake up in the morning, watch the sunrise, make plans for the day, talk to your friends, check your phone, and laugh with your family.

But you may never see the sunset.

You may leave home today without knowing that you will never return.

Within hours, people may be preparing your body for burial. Your family may be crying. Your friends may be sharing memories of you. People may gather to pray over you.

And after your burial, everyone will eventually return home.

BUT YOU WILL REMAIN BEHIND IN YOUR GRAVE.

💔 Have you thought about it?

  • -The grave and the life of the Barzakh.
  • -The angels and the questioning.
  • -The trials that await after death.
  • -The terror of the Day of Qiyāmah.
  • -Standing before Allah to answer for your deeds.
  • -The crossing of the Ṣirāṭ.
  • -Your final destination: Jannah or Jahannam.

Who will stand before Allah on your behalf?

Will your wealth answer for you?

Will your followers answer for you?

Will your popularity, expensive clothes, beautiful pictures, and worldly achievements save you from accountability?

No. You must take responsibility for your own deeds, and we all depend upon Allah's mercy.

Allah ﷻ says:

اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مُّعْرِضُونَ

“The people's judgment has drawn near, while they are in heedlessness, turning away.”

📖 Qur’an 21:1

Dear brother, dear sister, do not keep postponing repentance as though you have signed a contract guaranteeing a long life.

Do not neglect your Ṣalāh today, promising yourself that you will become religious tomorrow.

Do not persist in sin because you think you are still young.

Do not allow this world to make you forget the world you are travelling towards.

YOU ARE ALIVE TODAY. THAT MEANS YOU STILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE.

Pray. Repent. Seek forgiveness. Return people's rights. Abandon what Allah has forbidden. Do good secretly and publicly. Prepare for the meeting with your Creator.

Fear Allah, but never despair of His mercy.

May Allah protect us from the trials and punishment of the grave, grant us safety on the Day of Judgment, make our crossing over the Ṣirāṭ easy, forgive our sins, and admit us into Jannatul-Firdaws through His mercy.

Āmīn, Yā Rabb al-ʿĀlamīn.

You may see the sunrise today and make plans for tomorrow, but tomorrow is not promised. Remember death. Remember Allah. Prepare for the Hereafter while you still can.
