As someone who thinks there is no Islam without tasawwuf, the minute I meet someone who identifies themselves as a “Sufi” I run lol.

Absolute weirdos, tazkiyah and spirituality is intertwined in the heart of our deen, it’s not some alternative, edgy parallel identity. Also it sounds incredibly arrogant to claim you’re a Sufi, no true Sufi would think themselves as one, they would say they aspire to be like one.

Anyway, it’s not all terrible, usually these ppl are goofy Sufis anyway, extreme devotion to their sheikh, kinda culty, valuing niche and unverified claims and stories over the Quran and Sunnah spending more time jumping around and singing songs than reading Quran.

Get your tasawwuf from real scholars who value character and discipline over airy fairy vibes. Avoid fat men who became a Shaikh because their dad was and always speak in riddles

As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahu wa barakullahi, how are you all doing now in Sha Allah? I am a practicing sunni /sufi living in rural area of VA. I am 69 years younger and I have been divorced from over ten years now. I am a parent of seven grown up adults and twenty two grandchildren and four great grandchildren too.

The Story of the Sufi and the Snake
There were two Sufis: an experienced master and a younger disciple still undergoing training.
After a great rainstorm, they passed through a forest. Among wet branches and leaves, the elder Sufi saw an injured snake lying weak and helpless.
He felt compassion for it and picked it up.
The disciple protested: It is a snake. It is dangerous. Why are you carrying it?
But the elder saw something simpler: it was a suffering creature of God.
As they continued walking, the snake gradually recovered. Once its strength returned, it bit the very hand that had rescued it.
The elder Sufi calmly placed the snake somewhere safe.
The astonished disciple essentially said: Didn’t I warn you? You saved it, and this is how it repaid you.
The master answered with the lesson Ashfaq Ahmed needed:
The snake had not betrayed him. That was simply the snake’s way.
In other words, do not demand that everything you treat with kindness cease being what it is.

Shaykh Nurjan Mirahmadi — Biography
Shaykh As-Sayed Nurjan Mirahmadi is a contemporary Islamic scholar, Sufi teacher, spiritual guide, author, humanitarian, and community leader associated with the Naqshbandi Sufi tradition, particularly the Naqshbandi-Haqqani lineage. Based between Vancouver, British Columbia, and Los Angeles, California, he has devoted more than three decades to Islamic spirituality, spiritual education, humanitarian service, and community building.
Shaykh Nurjan studied Business Management at the University of Southern California, graduating in 1990. He later pursued Islamic and classical Sufi studies, including study at the As-Siddiq Institute in Michigan and the Haqqani Institute in Lefke, Cyprus. In 1995, he became a student of Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani and continued his spiritual studies within the Naqshbandi tradition. He received spiritual authorization (ijazah) from senior Naqshbandi teachers, including Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani and Shaykh Hisham Kabbani.

His teachings focus on dhikr (remembrance of Allah), tafakkur (contemplation), purification of the heart, spiritual discipline, love of Allah and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, humility, compassion, and service to humanity

THE UNVEILED | 06: The "No"

A rusted heart doesn't clear on its own. It takes practice — dhikr, until the rust lifts.

But the path begins with one word: No.

La ilaha illa Allah. "There is no god…" before "…but Allah." One by one, the heart lets go of everything other than Him. First the world. Then the reward — that quiet transaction underneath our worship.

And then the hardest death of all: the nafs. The lower self. The idea that we do anything at all. The pride that whispers I — me.

This is what our Prophet ﷺ called the greater struggle — greater than any outward battle. And it's the least-walked road there is, because no one wants to be a nobody.

But that pride cannot climb — not an atom of it enters His presence.

So the lover does something stranger than fighting: they ask Allah Himself to take the lower self — the one smudge bending every reflection. Remove it, and a borrowed light lands on a mirror finally ready to reflect it.

This is how some die before they die — not by their own hand, but by a Light that was never theirs.

And these are the ones the world barely has a word for…

Highly spiritual now a days though I'm a beginner but not beginer 😂 If you know sufism, energies and sciences well you know what i mean 🙂
