Hi
@0532492271
And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to your parents. If one or both of them reach old age with you, do not say to them a word of disrespect, nor repel them, but speak to them with gracious words. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."
Explanation to the end
And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him “Him”
This means that God has commanded and obligated us to worship Him alone and not associate anything with Him.
“And be kind to parents”
Immediately after affirming God’s oneness, kindness to parents is mentioned, indicating the enormity of their rights.
“Whether one or both of them reach old age while with you”
This is especially important when they grow old and need care, patience, and service.
“Do not say to them even a word of annoyance like “Ugh””
Even a simple expression of annoyance like “Ugh” is forbidden by God, so what about shouting, insulting, or striking them?
“And do not rebuke them”
This means do not scold them, raise your voice to them, or treat them harshly. And speak to them with gracious words.
Speak to them politely and kindly, using words that will gladden their hearts.
And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy.
That is, be humble and compassionate towards them, and do not be arrogant towards them because of your strength, wealth, or position.
And say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."
God has taught us a great supplication for parents:
"O God, have mercy upon my father and mother as they had mercy upon me and brought me up when I was small."
And what is beautiful is that God did not only say: Obey your parents, but He also commanded mercy, kind words, humility, and supplication for them.
And if the parents have passed away, honoring them does not end; Among the greatest things you can offer them are supplication, seeking forgiveness for them, giving charity on their behalf, maintaining ties of kinship with them, and being kind to those whom they loved.

Being an adult is mostly saying “I’m tired” while having absolutely no idea what you’re doing with your life.
