Race Relations & The Responsibilities That Accompany Interracial Marriage
As salaamu alaikum. I engaged on this anonymous post — which was deleted, but screenshots are forever — and I’m sharing it here for a couple reasons:
1️⃣ This was a meaningful conversation…
…and I’d hate for the labor invested to be lost purely because one party opts to turn a deaf ear to what was said. If an individual desires to pursue marriage with a Black person — and especially a member of the Black diaspora — then these are serious considerations that need to be had.
2️⃣ This is a great example of what not to do.
Anti-racism requires the death of one’s ego in service of a group which is not your own. If in reading this exchange you cannot identify what and where there interaction is problematic, this is an invitation to pick up a book. There are so many anti-racism resources and so much anti-racism literature available that to claim ignorance is not only neglectful, it’s an act of compliance and a silent perpetuation of racist ideology.
3️⃣ This me making it clear where I stand…
…because my inbox is full of brothers who are not Black and who are expressing interest in my direction. Please understand: If you engage me, you can expect to hear me ask very direct questions about your understanding of and activity in the context of anti-racism, specifically as it relates to my community. If you’re not prepared to have that conversation, then it’s best not to approach me as we are fundamentally incompatible.
4️⃣ This is impersonal.
I don’t know this sister, nor does her identity matter to me. As I shared, this is the exact same discussion I’ve held with whit women within my close personal circle who are married to or have expressed interest in marrying Black men. Despite her assumption, it’s not my habit to imagine ill of others. In fact, assuming innocence is one of my personal core values. This conversation is not about character, it’s about capacity — the capacity to be quiet, listen to folks who are actually living the experience, and look in the mirror to find where you can do better. We can remove her entirely from the discussion and replace her with anyone from outside of my community, and my feedback would remain the same.
5️⃣ And many aren’t going to like this one — but yes, if you exist inside of a society which is based upon white supremacist, imperialist, and/or Eurocentric ideologies and you are not Black, you likely do hold harmful beliefs towards Black people.
That’s simply how systemic racism — and systemic oppression as a whole — works. Proximity to whiteness provides both a worldview and privilege which is inaccessible to folks with darker complexions, and it is accessible to you by virtue of your complicity with said system. I am not above exception here as a fair-skinned Black woman. In fact, that’s precisely part of WHY I am as vocal as I am about these matters — because I understand that I have access to spaces and ears that someone my father’s shade, for example, may not ever easily encounter. Leveraging my own privilege with my voice is therefore obligatory upon me to stand between my community and those who might perpetuate oppression towards us, both knowingly and unknowingly.
May Allah ta3la increase us in understanding, wisdom, and justice. Ameen.

For the sake of being Muslim I’m going to say this THE nicest way possible but feel free to insert words in. Tell me why I get Gold membership to talk to an interest ONLY to find out I still can’t talk to whomever I want because they are “POPULAR”! ARE YOU ACTUALLY SERIOUS LIKE REALLY?‼️‼️ like who the sam heck do you think you are telling who can speak to who according to popularity. NOOOOOW it makes sense why so many men on here think they are the prize it’s because of the creator of this app! Forgive me if this insults anyone but it’s TYPICAL non American Muslims that do this! And I’m not going anonymous about this either 🤬

Comments: I am a hijabi and down to earth kind of a person. I am funny, and enjoy to laugh and makes jokes and I know when something needs attention and thats when I put my serious hat on. I am a gym goer. If I dont go to the gym I workout at home or the good old outdoors. I do cardio 7x a week and lift 3 to 4x a week. I enjoy the outdoors a lot. I do enjoy greenery and sunlight. I spend my leisure time doing art, writing journals and reading books. I pray all my prayers and read Quran on weekends usually. I like to try viral healthy recipes from TikTok. In fact today I just made Moong masoor daal which we all sat down at dinner and devoured.

🍂🍁Social reality shows that in friendship, people often still look at looks and social status. But in the eyes of Allah, those things hold no value. He created us in all our diversity to know and complement each other, not to compete or feed our ego. After all, what truly makes us honorable to Him isn't a flawless appearance or a high status, but purely the sincerity of our faith and devotion✨
Salam plz I gat a quick question yeah, why is it that single full everywhere, no body want to marry🤷♀️ if you meet people and truly talk deeply you will understand that they’re not just ready but yet they all claim to be single and searching
I have a question why do other Muslim hate black Muslim and do not greet them and give them side eyes but they say they read the Quran and are Muslim

have been on this app for months, genuinely looking for a serious relationship that leads to marriage. Sadly, my experience shows that many people are just here to play games and break the hearts of honest people. Even when you offer pure loyalty, they look for an excuse to leave.
I want the world to know that I am not a bad person. I am a faithful Muslim with a pure heart, raised in a family that values modesty, honor, and deep respect above everything else. I always stand firmly by my words and promises. For the right, loyal partner, location means nothing to me—I am fully prepared to travel to any country in the world to build our future together. If you are also tired of the games and sincerely looking for a true, faithful connection, I invite you to message me and experience my loyalty for yourself💔
