This "my money is my money" mentality. Can someone clarify this. In this day and age, are men expected to take care of ALL finances while the wife works, yet keeps the money to herself? I dont understand this expectation or mindset.
Would it be any different if shes not working? If all the money belongs to the wife, what responsibilities does she have as a wife?

Question for all.
Please answer this not as Muslims but as humans
How many of you find some aspects of living in non Muslims nations challenging?
How do you rectify it? How do you cope?
What do you think of men doing chemical peels?

Hi
Lying might genuinely be one of the ugliest traits a person can have >:(
As I get older, the more I realize how much I absolutely hate lying.
Not even just cheating-level lies. I mean the little unnecessary lies too. Saying you were somewhere you weren’t. Saying someone wasn’t there when they were. Making up an excuse instead of just telling the truth. Hiding things because you’re scared of how the other person will react.
Because once I catch you lying, what happens to trust?
Now every time you tell me something, a part of me has to wonder if it’s true. You can be attractive, educated, religious, successful, whatever. If I genuinely cannot trust your word, what kind of marriage are we supposed to build?
And what makes lying so horrible is that the liar gets to move on after saying it, but the other person is left questioning everything. Was that true? What else did they lie about? Am I stupid for believing them?
I honestly think lying destroys emotional safety faster than almost anything else.
I’d rather someone tell me something difficult that hurts me than comfort me with a lie. At least with the truth I know who I’m dealing with.
For marriage especially, I think honesty has become one of my absolute biggest dealbreakers. I don’t want perfection. I can forgive mistakes. But I need to know that when my spouse tells me something, their word means something.
What do you even have without trust?
