We are testing different ad providers in Jamaa to drop some ads into the feed.

Jamaa is a free product and always will be. But it does have considerable costs (team plus all the tech costs of the infrastructure and moderation scanning). We need to at least try and have this thing break even for now.

We've set categories of ads we are happy to use (eg removed adult, alcohol, gambling etc).

One thing that seems to be happening is that companies create eg adult ads and then tell Google they belong to a different category (eg family). Which makes it a nightmare to then find and remove. Google and others don't seem to care (as long as they get paid).

It's an ongoing issue and the guys are actively looking at it. Apologies if you see any ads which are clearly haram and horrible. It's a murky world out there that we are fighting.

But this matters, I don't want that stuff on Jamaa.
