The bond market is waking up to the fact that official debt statistics exclude unfunded liabilities.
When you add them, every major Western economy is effectively insolvent.
What's surprising is 1) unfunded liabilities were bascically ignored and 2) it took this long to stop ignoring them.
Textbook example of what I call a "Neglected Certainty".
N.B. if it's helpful think "fiscally unsustainable" instead of effectively insolvent
